The objective of the Journal is to disseminate scientific and technological research works in the area of Veterinary Sciences, and related information, carried out within the framework of respect for animal welfare.
The areas of Veterinary Sciences are: Basic Veterinary Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Health, Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health, Nutrition, Animal Production and Reproduction, Fisheries Biology and Aquaculture, Administration, Economics and Commerce, Veterinary Legislation and Deontology, Animal Welfare, Ecology, Environment and Biotechnology. It is aimed at researchers, teachers and national and international students of institutions related to Veterinary Sciences.
The Journal Compendio de Ciencias Veterinarias adopts the uniform guidelines for the submission of manuscripts for the publication of biomedical journals set forth by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, available at: http://www.medicc.org/mediccreview/documents/requisitos-de-uniformidad-para-manuscritos.pdf.

La revista Ciencias Veterinarias recibe para su publicación artículos científicos, informes de casos, cartas al director o revisiones bibliográficas dentro del ámbito de la Medicina Veterinaria, la Salud Pública Veterinaria y disciplinas afines. Los artículos pueden presentarse en español o en inglés.
El Comité Editorial no apoya necesariamente las ideas publicadas, nombres de marcas comerciales o productos, en los artículos; esta información es responsabilidad de los autores. La Revista Ciencias Veterinarias declina toda responsabilidad por posibles conflictos derivados de la autoría de los trabajos publicados en la revista.
La revista Ciencias Veterinarias se publica semestralmente (dos veces al año). El primer número corresponde a los meses de enero a junio y el segundo a los meses de julio a diciembre. Ocasionalmente se publican números especiales en formato de suplemento.
Como revista de acceso abierto, Ciencias Veterinarias pone todo su contenido a disposición de particulares e instituciones de forma gratuita. Los usuarios pueden leer, descargar, copiar, distribuir, imprimir y buscar los artículos con fines educativos o de investigación y sin ánimo de lucro, sin necesidad de solicitar permiso previo al editor o al autor siempre que se cite adecuadamente la fuente de información, el nombre del autor o autores y no se creen obras derivadas.

Scope: The Journal of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry publishes research articles, review articles, case reports and scientific trials in all areas of veterinary medicine and animal husbandry.
Scientific article: original scientific article that presents the results of research conducted under the scientific method. It typically consists of the following sections: abstract, introduction, methodology (materials and methods), results and discussion, and conclusions.
Case report: report of a clinical case of relevance, either because it is the first in its specific context or because of its particular characteristics that make it of interest to the scientific community and therefore publishable. It should contain at least the following sections: abstract, introduction, description of the case (including discussion) and conclusion or perspectives. The general format of the text, illustrations and references should follow the same standards required for research articles.
